Sunny Drake is 'Other-wise' at Connecticut College

Sunny Drake, a transgender writer, performer and sound artist, performs "Other-wise" at Connecticut College on Wednesday, March 30, at 7 p.m. in Room 202 of Palmer Auditorium. A discussion will follow the show. "Other-wise" is a one-person show in which various mediums - including theatre, animation, storytelling, music, movement, comedy, puppets and multimedia - combine to tell Drake's story.

But his "warning for audiences" serves to let people know that "Other-wise" can tell their stories, too: "You will only understand this show if you are human and born on planet earth. If you've ever tried to fit into other people's expectations or been worried someone wouldn't understand or be proud of you, then this story is also about you." This free performance is sponsored by the Presidential Fund for Faculty-Student Involvement, the Departments of Theatre and Gender and Women's Studies and the LGBTQ Center. *Unfortunately, this venue is not handicapped-accessible.
