The Connecticut College Equity and Inclusion Action Plan provides an institutional strategy and specific set of actions for advancing the goals of equity, inclusion, and full participation. The plan was developed during the 2018-2019 academic year in an open and collaborative process led by the President’s Council on Equity and Inclusion, a representative group that reflects the College's commitment to shared governance. The Board of Trustees reviewed and unanimously endorsed the plan in May 2019.

In developing this plan, the President’s Council reviewed decades of institutional data, reports and recommendations, climate studies, and literature related to diversity and equity in higher education. Council representatives also met with numerous campus stakeholders, compiling their ideas to inform the final version of the plan.

The plan serves as a living document that responds to the changing needs of our community. Therefore, in solidarity with the global Black Lives Matter movement, the plan was updated in June 2020 to include a new set of goals specifically focused on anti-racist education and action.
