Faculty art on display
Artwork by nine Department of Art faculty members is on display this fall in Connecticut College’s Joanne Toor Cummings Gallery in the Cummings Arts Center.
The 2016 Connecticut College Faculty Exhibition includes photography, painting, printmaking, sculpture and digital media by Department of Art faculty Gregory Bailey, Chris Barnard, Ted Hendrickson, Pamela Marks, Timothy McDowell and Andrea Wollensak, as well as visiting faculty Paul McMullan, Shauna Merriman and Amanda Gutierrez.
“The Department of Art faculty is a vibrant group of professional artists who not only teach, but actively pursue their art and research,” said Marks, an associate professor of art. “This faculty exhibition is not centered around a theme but instead has a focus on recent works by each artist. The creative endeavors are diverse in materials and ideas, and this show provides an opportunity for our students and the College community to see some of what we do.”
The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, is on display now through Dec. 9. A Gallery Reception is planned for 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 3, and visiting faculty member Gutierrez will present a public lecture at 4:15 p.m. on Nov. 16 in Cummings Arts Center, Room 308.
