Associate Dean of the College for Curriculum

Christopher Hammond, Associate Dean of the College for Curriculum and Associate Professor of Mathematics, joined Connecticut College in 2003. His role as dean is to oversee the curriculum, particularly related to the ongoing development and implementation of the new Connections program. He also oversees the New London Scholars program and chairs the committee on Student-Designed Interdisciplinary Majors and Minors.

Hammond earned his bachelor's degree in English and mathematics at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, and his master's and doctoral degrees in mathematics at the University of Virginia. Most of his mathematical research belongs to an area of analysis known as function-theoretic operator theory. He also has worked on projects relating to probabilities associated with athletic competitions.
