Mark McCormick has performed in a wide variety of musical genres throughout the United States, Canada, and Japan. He has been a member of the United States Coast Guard Band since 1996, and with that organization has performed for three presidents, numerous foreign heads of state, and other high level dignitaries, as well as numerous tours across the United States and Far East.

He has performed in New York with the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, Prism Chamber Orchestra and Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra. Mark has been a soloist at the Texas International Double Bass Symposium, and also appears regularly in a wide variety of classical and jazz groups across the New England area. An active jazz musician as well, Mark has performed at the prestigious jazz festivals in Sacramento CA, Washington D.C., and Sun Valley ID.

He has recorded for the Koch, Newport Classic, Bridge, and Vox labels.

Mr. McCormick received both his bachelor's and master's degrees from the Manhattan School of Music where he was a scholarship student of Linda McKnight. He also studied with renowned double bass soloist Gary Karr, as well as special studies with Edwin Barker at Boston University.

Mark is the Assistant Director of the Thames Valley Youth Orchestra located at Connecticut College.
