The Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) is located on the lower level of the Charles E. Shain Library room A26. It is open during normal library hours. It provides audio, video, and graphics hardware and software for students to use for course-related and personal academic projects. It is also used to provide video editing and podcast production training to classes that will be using those applications for course projects. Other members of the campus community with a college network login can use the ATL when it is not in use by students.

The workstations in the ATL are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Students can reserve a workstation for a specific date/time for up to 4 hours no more than 1 week in advance. Faculty can reserve the ATL for an instructional technology session for one of their courses with a least one week's notice. Contact Michael Dreimiller, mcdre@conncoll.edu, or Lyndsay Bratton, lbratton@conncoll.edu to make a reservation. Their offices are both located next to the ATL.

There are six workstations each consisting of a Mac Studio M2 Max with a 27" display, a second Apple Thunderbolt display, an optical drive for reading and burning CDs and DVDs, and an Epson Perfection V600 scanner. There is also an instructor's workstation without a second display or scanner. The workstations are set up to print to the Xerox Multifunction Device (MFD) printers on campus.

  • All workstations expect the instructor's workstation have an Epson Perfection Photo V600 scanner that can also scan 35mm film strips and slides.
