Children's Program to host Scholastic Book Fair

The Connecticut College Children's Program will host a book fair conducted by Scholastic, the children's publishing company, that will be open to the public on Thursday, Sept. 29 and Friday, Sept. 30, from 3-7 p.m. According to Amy White, a preschool teacher at the Children's Program, most of the books on sale will be for younger children, but books for readers of all ages will be available. "We will have board books, picture books, chapter books, easy readers and adult bestsellers and cookbooks, in addition to some novelty items," she said. Proceeds from the book fair will be used to purchase books and other educational materials for the Children's Program. Said White, "We are all excited to be hosting our first Scholastic Book Fair. We hope that all the families at our school, as well as the families in our community, will benefit from this fair." The book fair will be held at the Children's Program in Holmes Hall, located at 75 Nameaug Avenue in New London.
