Connecticut College named a top producer of Fulbrights

Connecticut College has been named a top producer of Fulbright students for 2022-2023, according to the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Eight graduating seniors and one recent alumna were offered Fulbright awards last spring, placing the College on the Chronicle of Higher Education’s annual list for top-producing bachelor’s institutions for the sixth time in eight years.

“We are thrilled to be named a top Fulbright producer and we are appreciative of the close collaborations across campus that reflect a deep commitment to our students, global education and Conn’s mission of educating students to put the liberal arts into action. This mission has never been more relevant than it is today, and we are proud of the students we send into what is an ever-more-complex world,” said Melissa Ryan, director of the Walter Commons for Global Study and Engagement and International Fellowships.

The Fulbright Program is the U.S. government’s flagship international educational exchange program. Fulbright fellows receive round-trip transportation to the host country, a living stipend, research allowances and medical insurance.
