Men’s Soccer coaches named National Coaching Staff of the Year

After leading the Men’s Soccer team to its first NESCAC Championship and then on an unforgettable NCAA run that saw Camels in their second championship final in three years, the Connecticut College Men’s Soccer coaching staff has been named the 2024 Division III National Coaching Staff of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches.

This is the second time in four seasons that the Camels coaching staff, featuring head coach Reuben Burk, assistant coach Andrew Storton and goalkeeper coach Lee Elliott, has earned the honor. They were previously honored in 2021 after the Camels won the NCAA Division III Championship.

The trio led Conn to a historic season that included a national runner-up finish (after going scoreless in regulation and overtime, the Camels fell in PKs to NESCAC rival Amherst) and the program’s first-ever NESCAC title with a 3-1 victory over Middlebury in the tournament final. The Camels (14-3-7 overall) finished the season ranked No. 2 in the final USC Top 25 Poll.

In 2023, the Camels went undefeated in the regular season. During Burk’s six seasons as head coach, the team has earned four NCAA berths, making four trips to the Elite Eight and two to the Final Four, reaching the championship game both times.

The Conn coaching staff will be honored at the United Soccer Coaches Awards Ceremony on Jan. 10 at the Marriott Hotel in Chicago, Illinois, in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention.
