The Connecticut College Men’s Basketball team extended its winning streak to five games with a 94-77 victory over Hamilton College on Sunday afternoon in a NESCAC match-up at Luce Field House.

After celebrating their seniors prior to tip-off, the Camels shot 53% en route to their highest point total of the season. David Murray ’24 and Elias Espinosa ’26 led the charge on offensive with 24 and 23 points, respectively.

With the win, Conn secured a top-three finish in the league standings and the right to host a quarterfinals game in the NESCAC Championship for the first time since 2002. The Camels improved to 7-1 in the conference standings and are currently tied for second place. The seven NESCAC wins are the most by the program since the league began championship play in 2000-01.

Conn’s four seniors all got the starting nod and had a big part in the victory. Murray pulled down seven rebounds to go along with his game-high 24 points, and Jarron Flynn ’24 added a season-high 12 points and four boards. Billy Whelan ’24 went 3-for-3 from deep for nine points and tacked on three steals while Ben Rice ’24 grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds.

Murray, who leads the team in points and blocks, was honored as the NESCAC Player of the Week for the third time in his career. He joins Matt Vadas ’14 as the only three-time honorees in program history. Murray was also selected to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week in January.

With two games left in the regular season, the Camels will next play at Middlebury College on Friday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. Their final regular season game before the NESCAC Championship tournament will be played at Williams College on Sunday, Feb. 11, at 1 p.m.
