Assistant Dean for Residential Education and Living

Sara began her career in higher education in 1998 worked at several small colleges before coming to Connecticut College in 2012. She came to Connecticut College because she believes in its mission and values — most specifically its focus on equity and inclusion. Sara is responsible for overseeing the department and directly supervises the professional staff team. Sara has her bachelor's in psychology from Westminster College, a master's in counseling psychology from the University of Minnesota, and a doctorate in human development with an emphasis in higher education administration. She lives on campus with her family.

Becky comes to Conn from the South (New Orleans native), excited to work with a student population that is invested in their college experience. She has over 10 years of Residence Life experience from many types of institutions. Becky earned her Bachelor of Sociology from Loyola University New Orleans and her Master of Arts in Student Affairs from Louisiana State University. Becky will complete her Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Administration in summer 2023 from the University of Southern Mississippi. Her research focuses on how the student employment experience connects to the larger college journey. When not in class or work, you can find Becky playing board games with her partner and friends, reading, or playing with her cat.

Brittney Ortiz obtained her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2017. She worked in residential life as an assistant residence hall director at the University of Connecticut as she completed her master's degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs in 2022. While pursuing her master's degree she also completed practicums in an accessibility office and the dean of students office. In her free time, you can find Brittney pursuing her favorite hobbies of homemade cooking, creating art, hanging out with her partner, and walking her dog.

Interim Assistant Director, North Campus: Johnson, Park, Wright, Lambdin, Morrisson, Hamilton, Larrabee, Katherine Blunt, Smith, Branford, Burdick

Taylor graduated from Connecticut College in 2020 where she obtained her bachelor's in biology, as well as worked for two years with REAL as both a Floor Governor and Housefellow. Currently, she is working on her master's in higher education. In her free time, you can find her tending to her houseplants, or spending time with her partner and two cats.
